Packing: Packing is the single most important aspect of moving. Whenever possible, do your packing prior to the day of the move and if you foresee a problem in doing your own packing please let us know. We have professional packers as well as materials. Most customers underestimate how much time they need to pack. Use the proper packing materials - sturdy boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap and packing peanuts. Old Pillows, blankets and wadded up newspaper also provide good low-cost padding materials. Empty all drawers.

Labeling: Once your boxes are packed and taped, they should be labeled for their intended destination. Pack one room at a time labeling each box on the top and the side. Be sure to mark boxes containing breakable items FRAGILE. Keep a detailed list of the items packed in each box to make unpacking easier.

Loading and Unloading: It is important to know your residential policy as to when and where trucks can park on both ends of your move. And, please remember to reserve a parking space if needed.

Move date: Try to move on a weekday when banks, utilities and government offices are open and try to leave your telephone in service on the day of the move. Moving can be very stressful. At Uptown Movers we understand this and we come prepared to make this time your best experience in moving...
